Professional BandSaw
- Why does the logo on the Professional Bandsaw look different?
With the introduction of the Professional Bandsaw, we are taking the opportunity to refresh our visual identity, including a new logo.
- Does the Professional Bandsaw collect dust below and above the table?
There are two dust ports on the Professional Bandsaw – both are below the table, including unique and focused collection immediately below the table surface. Dust extraction above the table obstructs the user’s work path, and dust blowers (the only attempted answers we’ve seen in the market) irresponsibly spread fine dust particles out into the workspace.
- Will the Professional Bandsaw be available internationally?
Release timelines for the Professional Bandsaw outside of the US and Canada have not yet been determined. International timelines will be established sometime after the official launch in the US and Canada.
- Will you offer the same free brake cartridge replacement for an activation on the bandsaw that you offer for the table saws?
Yes. SawStop will replace a bandsaw brake cartridge for free if the activation is confirmed to have been caused by accidental contact with skin.
- Does the Professional Bandsaw come with a resaw fence?
Yes. The Professional Bandsaw comes standard with a versatile and easy-to-adjust fence. It can be used with its “high” side for resawing or with its “low” side for small pieces.
- Can the Professional Bandsaw cut wet/green wood or other possibly conductive material?
Wet or green wood may be able to be cut with the safety system active, depending on the moisture content. We recommend testing the wood in “Bypass Mode” first to be sure the safety system won’t activate.
Any other potentially conductive material, or pressure treated wood should be cut in “Bypass Mode” to reduce the likelihood of an activation. Pressure treated wood often contains a large amount of copper, which is conductive.
- How does the bandsaw safety system work compared to the table saw safety system?
While the brake cartridge is different on the Professional Bandsaw than on our table saws, it uses the same Sensic Active Safety system to detect contact with skin and stop the blade in milliseconds.
- Can my bandsaw be retrofitted with SawStop’s safety system?
No, it is not possible to retrofit another bandsaw with SawStop’s safety system.
- When will the Professional Bandsaw be available for purchase?
We estimate the Professional Bandsaw will be in-stores in mid-2027 with the ability to pre-order approximately 3-4 months before that.
- What are the available motor options on your bandsaw?
The Professional Bandsaw will be available with either a 1.75 HP or 3 HP motor
- What is the maximum resaw height?
The maximum resaw height of the Professional Bandsaw is 14”
- How much does the Professional Bandsaw cost?
The price for the bandsaw has not been set yet due to volatile supply conditions. We will set the price around the time we start taking pre-orders which is likely to be 3-4 months before the in-store date.
Brand & Logo
- What does the logo icon symbolize?
The icon that is part of the new SawStop logo was designed to be a bold and easily recognizable mark that embodies the 3 foundational pillars that have shaped the SawStop brand since our founding more than 25 years ago – Safety, Innovation, and Quality.
- Why change the SawStop logo now?
The Professional Bandsaw is our first product introduction beyond table saws or table saw accessories, and we have plans to continue to produce even more tools for the woodworking shop in the future. As such, now is the perfect time for us to refresh our look and mark the evolution of our product line.
- Why did you change the SawStop logo?
Brands frequently update their visual identities over time for a variety of reasons. We’re updating the SawStop logo now to better reflect who we are today and where we are heading in the future. SawStop’s foundation is table saws, but our future stretches out across the woodshop, starting with the introduction of our Professional Bandsaw – making now the perfect time to reflect that change through the update of our logo.
